Binance-Peg Polkadot: Trust Wallet Users Frustrated
Simple steps how to solve this
So you have confidently brought the Polkadot Token in your Trust Wallet, you then went through the process of sending your DOT to another wallet or exchange, only to find that your Polkadot is pegged to Binance Bep2 or Bep 20. You can’t seem to find a way to move your so-called DOT tokens out of your Trust Wallet.
Sad face Note: If you live in the US you are completely stuck in the mud, because binance.us does not provide Polkadot. Yet, binance.com does!
I will cover this in a later article.
For all other fuming users that take their frustrations to Reddit forums trying to find answers look no further.
How to send your Polkadot Bep2 or Bep20 Trust Wallet tokens to Binance to gain the Native Polkadot token.
Login to your Binance account and ‘open’ DOT and ‘click’ Deposit
You will see four options:
- Polkadot
- Binance Chain (BEP2)
- Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) Congested
- Ethereum (ERC20)
Good news: It does’nt matter whether you are sending from your Trust Wallet Polkadot Token (Bep20) or PolkadotBEP2 to Binance so don’t you worry.
If you are holding in your Trust Wallet Polkadot Bep2 then you will ‘click’ Binance Chain (BEP2).
If you are holding Polkadot Token Bep20 then you will ‘click’ Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) which, would usually say ‘Congested’. But, don’t let that word put you off, I’ve used it many times and have received my transfers in less than a minute.
Note: If you are sending over a Polkadot Bep2 network then both MEMO and an Address are required to successfully deposit your BEP2 tokens to Binance.
Bep20: Go ahead and ‘copy’ your DOT Deposit address and head back to your Trust Wallet.
Bep2: ‘Copy’ your DOT deposit address and your Memo.
In Trust Wallet ‘open’ your Polkadot (where your money is held in) and ‘click’ send.
‘Paste’ your recipient address and your memo if you are sending from Bep2 you had ‘copied’ from Binance AND the X amount you want to send and ‘click’ next following the prompts and you are done.
